MY STORY
From a Weekly Newsletter to More Than One Million Readers
Chani Nicholas is a Canadian astrologer, activist, and New York Times bestselling author. She began her professional journey in 2011 by writing a weekly astrology newsletter for friends and family.
Her work focuses on progressive values and marginalized communities. She presents astrology as a tool for self-knowledge, radical acceptance, conscious action, and meaningful social change.
In 2018, Nicholas appeared in “Astrology,” the fourteenth episode of the Netflix documentary series Explained. She also served as the resident astrologer for the website of O, The Oprah Magazine.
I wanted to write a book that would help people access the wisdom of their birth chart, find their life’s purpose more quickly, and help all of us contribute to the world more fully.

AUTHOR + CREATOR
Embracing Radical Self-Acceptance Through Astrology
Her first book, You Were Born for This: Astrology for Radical Self-Acceptance, was published by HarperCollins on January 7, 2020.
The book debuted at number eight on The New York Times Best Seller list. It introduced a wider audience to the wisdom of the birth chart and encouraged readers to understand their strengths, contradictions, and purpose.
Through the book, Nicholas offers astrology as a practical framework for self-understanding—not as a fixed prediction, but as an invitation to recognize personal agency and participate more meaningfully in the world.

Chani serves as president of Chani Nicholas Incorporated. She leads a professional team of astrologers who create the content featured on the company’s website and in its newsletters.
